Hi Wayne
Just a note to say thank you for getting that PT-35 away last week. It’s a perfect fit for a 2000 Johnson 40hp but there is room for error. The outboard mounting holes need to be spot on, as there is just enough room. That being said I took the time and it lined up perfectly.
Haven’t hooked up the electrics yet but they look well thought out.
Cheers Rob

| Rohan and Jess have discovered that their boat tracks alot better in corners once the Manual Jack Plate was fitted |
 |
 |
Rohan and Jess have the boat above in the Northern Territory. They recently fitted a manual Jack Plate .
They write....
Hi Wayne, yes the plate turned up last Monday. It’s on and looks good. We took it to Manton Dam for a test run on Saturday. It makes such a difference. |

Darryl is in Townsville.
He needed some help to lift the Yammie 40 as he came to shore.
The PT-130 fitted perfect for this motor and now Darryl does not need to move from the steering station when approaching the boat ramp to pull the motor up.
Just a flick of the switch does the trick
Darryl fitted his own unit, we supply the owners manual for each unit. Its an easy job. |

Tom is on the Sunshine Coast, he has got a 4 mtr tinnie with a 30 hp Merc on the back, a nice handy package for sneaking into the shallows with a few crab pots or just sitting off shore to bag a catch.
Problem is, getting the motor up and down as you navigate the shallows is not easy.

 |
 |
BUT now Tom has the PT-35 fitted to the tinnie, all that effort is a thing of the past.
The tilt button is under his right thumb, so that even when he is half way down the boat, pulling pots, he can still control the elevation of the outboard.

| Tim fitted a PT-35 to his CV30 Yamaha.

Short note to let you know how happy I am with the PT35.
Installation was no problem and the unit works very well. I also stuck a post at Ausfish boating chat which has had 5 replies ans 170 views. Warranty card on the way by post. |
TIMS AUSFISH POST
Recently went looking for power T&T for my 30 hp yamaha. Age and the back meant the manual tilt was becoming a trial.
Finished up buying the CMC PT35 from Wayne @Caboolture delivered to my door in Newcastle 3 days later.
I'm no mechanical genius, but with a bit of help with the lifting on and off of the motor, had no trouble fitting and wiring the unit myself.
It is fantastic! If anyone else is thinking of fitting one, I highly recommend these.

AUSFISH POST QUESTION
Timothy, did the extra setback change the boats behaviour or the ergonomics much?
cheers FNQ
TIMS Reply
Yep...improved ride and performance.
I RTFM'd the instructions a few times, then fiddled with string lines and levels to make sure the new motor height was spot on. Motor sits about 85mm higher than when on transom. Cav plate rides in cleaner water, and after experimenting with trim settings on water, I get on the plane quicker, then adjust trim depending on weight of for'wd deckie.
I had to get a tiller extension handle for comfort when driving, but am currentl up to mental design #457c for a small console with mechanical steering.
My hull is a Seaman mark 2 and and a mate who has been fishing in the boat for years cannot believe the improvement. |
 |
AUSFISH POST COMMENT
I have one too - ride and handling is marginally better, heaps less cavitation though which was a problem before hand.
The tiller handle is a little further back but still comfortable to drive.
Had it on for about a year now and its going great, like Tim I highly recommend them.

Heres a happy man !!!!!!
Mick just bought his new boat and motor for a good price at the local boat show. Everything he needed to go fishing, but that little 25/4 Stroke Merc proved just abit too heavy to haul up manually. |
Couple of dollars and a couple of hours later, we fixed that problem |

Hi Wayne
Just wanted to let you know, when I recieved the ML65 manual plate from the courier i was surprised how well built it was, and the quality and finish is excellent, after fitting the jackplate to Labsport it is now a weapon to drive, top end speed, fuel economy and boat drivability have all improved and it really looks the part. I would like to thank you for the prompt easy service and fast delivery that went with purchasing the plate.

Reg, from Wilberforce in New SouthWales recently bought his unit from us on eBay
Just wanted to let you know Courier delivered unit Wednesday 23rd, spent Thursday fitting it and then out on the water Friday. I have a bit to learn about trim but so far very happy. When we bought the boat did not realise it would be so heavy to lift from inside the boat, I am 67 and came to realise I may not be able to do it in the future, inquired at Mercury Dealer but was told tilt and trim was not made for our motor it is 40HP Mercury three cylinder two stroke Model ME 40 ELD 2004 Thought it was worth a chance when I saw yours on eBay and as I said so far so good, have attached Photos Regards Reg (Reginald 7276) |
Daniel fishes on the fresh water dams in QLD and NSW, travels big distances to reach long arms on some of these lakes. His Bluefin Hellcat and Merc 175 combination gave him a travel speed of 95kmh but after fitting the PL-65HS this speed has increased to 109kmh.
With a little help from our friends at Coorparoo Marine and some experimenting with prop size that speed should increase to at least 115kmh |

 |
Gary is from Moree, but is also a keen fisherman on the dams both north and south of there.
He fitted a PL-65HS plate to his Bluefin Hellcat shown to the right and at the last tournament on Lake Boondooma found that he picked up more speed, better stability, better boat handling and better fuel economy. He's very happy with the setup. Just as well it wasnt his turn to feed everybody.

Sent: Tuesday, March 24, 2009 4:01 PM Subject: Jacking Plate
Hi Wayne
Jacking plate arrived last Wed and had it fitting took a couple of hours Thurs night. I was impressed by how easy it was to fit and the quality of the plate. Went for a test run on Mon and have mananged to gain a couple off knots but will need to re prop and play around with the height to get the most out of the boat. Thanks for the quick response and shipping it was a pleasure to do business with you.
Thanks Again

Mark, from LeisureCat in WA sourced a couple of Jacking Plates to suit a customers new boat fitted with twin 250 ETeC Evinrude Outboard Motors.
Hi Wayne,
When the jack plates arrived we were very impressed with the engineering of the jack plates. At the time of looking for a set for our boat, I was very concerned that the jack plates would crack or warp with the large engine’s on this boat which was going to get driven pretty hard in rough condition, it was mainly for that reason that I specifically wanted stainless steel jack plates.
When the plates arrived and we saw how heavy duty they were, my concerns were completely dismissed. The owner is very happy with the plates but unfortunately I didn’t get any shots of the installed plates and the boat now lives about 7 hrs from my factory.
If the boat comes back for any repairs in the future, I will be sure to take some shots and send them through to you. If we have any call for jack plates in the future I will definitely get in touch to order another set.
Kind Regards,

I’m enquiring on the PT35 to put on a Bluefin 4.15 with the elec start 25 Evinrude which I use very regularly around the local hot spots and a lot of personal family time in the around the lakes in North Queensland. |

After he had fitted the PT-35 he wrote back to say
Gidday Wayne
The fitup took some time, but it’s bloody beaut now. A couple of pics attached might show what I’m explaining.
As this was custom built for the bloke that ran the “ Fishing Guide “ business, he had the transom made for a short shaft (unbeknowns to me from the start), though the standard spec for this hull is a long shaft.
I had to add 2 ½” To the transom hight as you would gather from the pic I sent originally. The cav plate gives the big picture away.
Spent time on the milling machine to do the Teflon board between the PT35 and the transom. First run was impressive, but had some fine tuning to get what I wanted.
Weight distribution was an issue, so I have moved 45 litres of fuel to the front and appropriate quick connectors with the fuel line under the floor, then did the same with the 100 Ahr battery and 8Mtrs of welding cable.
Shouted it a new prop and went down a pitch at the same time, so it launches like a bullet and trims sweet for the WOT extra revs.
Did 3 launches over 2 days last weekend, between crabbing with a mate and taking the family for a high speed spin for fun, and it didn’t miss a beat. Kids are rapt and the boss approved.
I got pulled up at the ramp last Friday night by the water police and got a warning smack on the knuckles for not having a Capacity Label. They were so impressed with the whole setup, they said the money from the fine I might have got would better serv the boat in finishing what I’ve started. Lucky I’d say.

| Ryan from Mandurah Marine Centre in Western Australia wants to race "Mouse Boats" |
G’day Wayne,
They don’t race. . . . yet. . . . . Enough sold down here almost to form a club though! Have seen them advertised on the east coast also.
I have spread the word more about your trims within the industry (& jack plates etc) as some don’t seem to know about your products.
Unfortunately for the mouse boat, only old pulley/cable style steering fits if PT35 is used.
Neat toy . . . . I’d rather one of these than a jet ski any day – more social. This particular boat has remote stereo/CD, GPS, tacho, HR meter, autobilge, antifoul, NAV lights, spot lights, cup holders, esky, (power trim!), screen & flip back canopy yet to go on. Couldn’t get much else onto 10ft of boat!
Had it up to 38knots but that was with a stabilizer which ended up causing the boat to flip as it finned into the water with trim & bit down.
I replaced gear as required & took fin off, causing the need for lower pitch prop to help it shoot out of the hole, dropped about 9 knots.
Still plenty as it will do 28 knots with an 18hp Tohatsu. |

Journalist and Fisherman Mark Griggs writes for the Fishing Monthly Magazines, fitted a PT-35 to compliment his new Suzuki DT40 |
HAVE you just bought a new boat or upgraded your current one to a remote steer and have kept your trusty old outboard, but your outboard doesn’t have a factory fitted trim/trim unit?
Has your old outboards trim/tilt unit given up the ghost and you are finding it difficult to get parts or a replacement unit?
Or do you simply need a trim/tilt unit to lift a heavy outboard to save the ageing back?
Look no further – the CMC Trim and Tilt unit is just what you’re looking for.
Earlier this year, I purchased the CMC Trim / Tilt unit to go with my new Suzuki DT40 outboard for which a factory pre-fitted trim/tilt unit was strangely, not available.
I’ve got to tell you, I couldn’t be happier with the CMC unit.
It was simple to fit to my old tinnie with only four bolts to the transom, all the electricals came complete in a foolproof wiring harness and there were no fluids or bleeding of lines as the CMC comes fully primed and ready to work straight out of the box.
So you don’t need a professional to fit it but if you somehow get confused, (I don’t know how) a full set of instructions is included.
The unit accommodates clamp-on and bolt-on motors and is constructed from 6061 T6 CNC milled extruded aluminium with stainless steel fasteners and comes with a 5-year structural warranty.
Manufactured in the USA, the CMC has no welds or castings to break.
Durability is further enhanced because the electric hydraulic system is totally sealed and made of 100 percent non-ferrous materials, making it more impervious to saltwater with no parts to rust.
The electric over hydraulic actuator effortlessly lifts to 84 degrees of trim/tilt and is rated at 3500kg of thrust which CMC Australia profess is around 40 percent more powerful than other brands.
Other great features of the CMC unit is the 140mm set-back bracket off the transom which enhances boat stability and performance and also helps provide less motor disturbance with fish finder transducers while under way.
Spare parts and warranty are all supplied locally.
The CMC comes in two sizes PT-35 and PT-130 to suit popular outboard brands.
The PT-35 suits up to 35hp although the unit will fit some 40hp outboards like Suzuki, while the PT-130 fits up to 130hp outboards.
The CMC trim/tilt unit retails from $920. ( written when the $AU dollar was high against the $US)
